CWI's DIS group at CHI 2024

Publication date: 2024-05-11

Research carried out by the Distributed and Interactive Systems (DIS) group from Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) has resulted in contributions to this year’s ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI 2024), to be held in Honolulu, USA.

CHI is the flagship conference of ACM SIGCHI, the premier international society for professionals, academics and students who are interested in technology and human-computer interaction. Below we highlight the work we will present (2 Full Papers, 1 Case Study, 1 Late-breaking Work, 1 Workshop, 1 Special-Interest Group (SIG), and make an announcement regarding CHI Nederland (CHI NL).

We maintain our position within CHI NL, where CWI research scientist Abdallah El Ali is on the executive board since CHI NL was reinstated in 2020. Since April, 2024, he has been nominated to act as Chair of CHI NL. Furthemore, Pablo Cesar maintains his role within LobbyCHI, a taskforce within CHI NL dedicated to HCI research lobby activities in the Netherlands. CHI NL is an organization that aims at connecting, supporting, and representing the Human-Computer Interaction community in the Netherlands. CHI NL organized last year organized the HCI track at ICT.OPEN 2023, a CHI NL Social Event at the CHI 2023 conference in Hamburg, amongst other events, which can be seen on the CHI NL website. This year CHI NL will be holding the CHI NL Community Event in Utrecht on April 12, and an industry-focused event Experience and Beyond 2024 to be held later in the year.
