CWI is developing software for Point Cloud Compression. The goal of CWI is to make this software package available as an open-source system. The package includes a novel codec implementation, tools for benchmarking, quality metrics and testing and evaluation as base for MPEG activities on point cloud compression. The codec includes both novel color coding schemes and predictive algorithms. Aim is to further develop point cloud compression in MPEG and contribute it to the pcl library.
